Introduction To Mantrailing
So, you want to give Mantrailing a go?
Our introduction to Mantrailing workshop is the perfect way for dogs and their owners who are new to Mantrailing to get a basic insight to the theories and techniques needed to be a great Mantrailing team.
Our tailor made introduction consists of a short theory modules as well as lots of hands on practical.
The workshops usually run for 3 hours where we will cover the following elements
- What is scent and how do dogs use their sense of smell.
- What equipment do I need and how to use it.
- Learn what motivates your dog.
- Teach your dog to take scent from an article
- Complete short runaway exercises with your dog as the handler.
- Understand the basics of reading your dog’s body language whilst they trail.
At the end of this introduction, you will leave with a basic foundation of knowledge in order to go away and put some of the principles into practice.

Introduction To Mantrailing
LOCATION: Larchwood near Swaffham
Our introduction to Mantrailing workshop is the perfect way for dogs and their owners who are new to Mantrailing to get a basic insight to the theories and techniques needed to be a great Mantrailing team.
My introductions are mainly held at my central training facility which is a private enclosed woods just outside of Swaffham. This is the perfect location to introduce Mantrailing to you and your dog in a 20 acre setting with private secure parking in the centre and no access to the public. The follow on progressive classes are at various locations across Norfolk which is my primary training location however, I do travel further afield to surrounding counties..

Our mantrailing workshops are held at a variety of locations and are designed to train your dog in a number of environmental scenarios and conditions from rural, forest to urban and villages.
Dogs will be trained at their own pace whilst you work towards our stage assessments. This is open to all dogs of any breed and all dogs are worked on a long line and never off lead.
