Mantrailing In Norfolk
One of the fastest growing dog sports in the UK is now available through Breckland Mantrailing!
If you want to build a great relationship and improve the bond with your dog whilst exercising and spending time outdoors? then Mantrailing is for you.
So why don’t you give it a go?
What is Mantrailing?
Every person leaves a unique individual scent wherever they go. This is much like a fingerprint or DNA. This unique scent remains on the ground for several hours, sometimes even several days depending on the environment.
Mantrailing is taking the natural ability of a dog’s nose and training them to follow an individual human’s scent trail, avoiding distractions until they find the person at the end of the trail.
Search and Rescue teams worldwide use their dog’s extraordinary sense of smell to distinguish an individual scent amongst all the other smells and focus to follow the trail.
Now you can do this with your very own dog and we can show you how!
In our workshops, you will develop a greater understanding of how your dog learns and what motivates them. This is a great opportunity for them to not only use their incredible noses but also use their brains. The aim is to develop you and your dog into a great team but above all have fun.
Our instructor has a wealth of knowledge in specialist counter terrorism search practices, operational experience of high-risk missing person searches and training of trailing dogs for Search and Rescue teams nationally.

Your Mantrailing Instructor
Having gained my first experience of operational working dogs in my time in the Armed Forces, my passion grew whilst serving as a Specialist Search Officer in the Police. This is where I worked alongside Search and Rescue volunteers, searching for high risk missing people.
I took my passion for search a stage further when in 2016 I joined my local volunteer Search and Rescue team, training my first 'Trailing' Search Dog which later led onto attending an instructor program.
In January 2020 Breckland Mantrailing was born whilst the world was in lock down, I was working in the background building my training plan with my first Intro to Mantrailing launching in the April.
My aim is to pass on my ever growing trailing experience to sports mantrailers and operational handlers through a series of Introduction Sessions, Groups, Training Days and Private Lessons with having a great attention to detail, I can providing quality training through both theory and practical sessions.
